PRIMARY FUNCTION

Support the development and execution of the Company’s inventory plans, the establishment of inventory targets, and the tracking, control, and reporting of inventory data. 

Oversee production planning process for Material Planning Department, with direct supervision for material planners

Review Material Planner execution for inventory management, past due, DOH, excess and other measurements. Work with Material Planners to hit targets and continuously improve processes.

Communicate regularly with Plant Managers. Customer Service, and Purchasing to ensure that Planning and other departments are working together effectively.

Represent Planning Department at Forecast, MPS, S&OP, NPI and other meetings as required.

Appraise employee job performance, coach and develop employee skills, and manage conflict.

Support Operations Group in key initiatives

Responsible for taking/implementing corrective actions as necessary.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Requires 3 to 5 years of related experience and 2 to 4 years of college or equivalent work experience.  Must have supervisory experience, experience in planning of manufactured and/or purchased goods, Operations Management, and a thorough understanding of MRP and ERP principals.  Candidate must demonstrate ability to successfully lead a team that is spread out amongst many sites, and must be capable of managing a heavy workload.
