Not all lamps are created equal. Heavy-duty Stop, Turn & Tail applications
often call for a variety of different specifications, resulting in a range
of product options. Truck-Lite offers many lamps in the Stop, Turn &
Tail section to meet these different needs. Take a look at the differences
in lamp features to help you make your selection.
BULB CONSTRUCTION
Downtime and replacement losses can make for costly additions to your
lamp investment. You can avoid problematic lighting by investing in a
lamp with shock-mounting, which offers vibration resistance and overall
reliability. Furthermore, LED lamps offer a filament-free light source,
assuring maximum vibration resistance. Truck-Lite LED’s are sealed
in epoxy within the lamp to resist corrosion and moisture to the lamp’s
electrical components, and offer many other benefits over incandescent
lamps.
Sealed lamps ensure a longer life than bulb-replaceable lamps by preventing
corrosives from entering the lamp. Shock-mounted bulbs add the reliability
of vibration resistance. Truck-Lite’s Model 40 series S/T/T lamps
offer a shock mounted bulb, while the Super 40 series offers a much more
vibration resistant construction. LED Lamps offer a filament-free light
source, much more durable than bulbs of incandescent lamps. A more robust
and efficient design, Truck-Lite LED lamps are encapsulated in epoxy to
keep out corrosives, while operating at a significantly lower current
draw.
POLYCARBONATE CONSTRUCTION
Stress fractures and lens damage are easy ways to let corrosives and moisture
sneak into your lamp. Polycarbonate construction offers a much stronger,
more impact resistant alternative to less-durable ABS plastic alternatives.
Truck-Lite offers lamps with both lens and housings constructed of polycarbonate.
SPACE SAVING & COST CUTTING
While not every mounting application has the space for marker lights at
both corners of the trailer front, some could simply do w ithout
the cost of two lamps so close together. Enter: Truck-Lite PC Rated Combination
lamps! By incorporating innovative optics that disperse the required amount
of light in a range of directions, combination lamps can legally function
as two lamps when mounted at a 45° angle at the corner of the trailer.
By allowing one lamp the ability to function as two, you can save on space
as well as the extra lamp cost.
The one lamp system is popular in mounting applications where space is
at a premium, such as the upper rails. Fewer lamps also translates into
less downtime and maintenance costs. The marker & clearance combination
lamps use the same standard mounting holes and accessories as Truck-Lite's
traditional products. See the various models in this section to learn
more about the functions and specs for each version.
WHERE SPACE IS AT A PREMIUM
Some mounting applications call for lamps with a minimal surface depth
to accommodate for specific mounting rails, mounting brackets or problems
with clearance. Truck-Lite's line of low profile lamps are designed with
a compact, slim style that allows the lamp to maintain legal requirements,
while significantly r educing
the depth of the lamp.
The innovative design of Truck-Lite low profile lamps allows a low
profile fit, while assuring the same amount of light is given as there
larger counter-parts. Truck-Lite combination lamps are also available
in low profile models, while still maintaining the combination lamp
properties. All Truck-Lite low profile lamps also utilize the same standard
mounting holes and accessories as Truck-Lite's traditional clearance
& marker products.

impact resistant polycarbonate, stainless steel or extruded aluminum
options. Check out the selection of curved mounting brackets for more
choices on curved mounting surfaces!
SECURITY FLANGE & GROMMET COVERS

Damage from external corrosives is among leading causes of lamp and harness
failure, and can be prevented with proper insulation of your electrical
connections. Truck-Lite's NYK-77® corrosion preventive compound is
designed for periodic use on electrical contacts, switches & junction
boxes and other connections that don't use Fit 'N Forget™ connectors.
