ASSEMBLER A - WIRE

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Performs semi-complex work assignments that require a degree of dexterity, skill, precision, and accuracy.

               

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Able to perform a wide variety of work assignments that requires dexterity and skill. Responsible for maintaining product quality while performing operations. Responsible for first piece set-up verification. Must rotate as required. Participate in problem solving teams. Responsible for SPC charting. Ordinary physical exertion and frequent mental and visual effort is required. Manually push, pull, and bend wire and cable. Work assignments include but are not limited to the following: Molding, Precision soldering, Tape wrap, Solder dip, Eyelet, Terminators, Cell Floater (Cell Floaters are responsible to work in multiple cells), Wire cut/strip machines, Splicers, Test boards, General bench, and Floaters (Floaters are responsible to work in any area as required).

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Persons in this job must be able to sit and/or stand all day (up to 10 hours), manually lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push/pull containers of wire/cable, which may weigh up to several hundred pounds (either on dollies or on edge-not dead weight), rotate to various assignments involving various working conditions within their job descriptions, perform fine manipulation, perform accurate visual inspection, firm grasping and firm cutting (up to 25 pounds of pressure periodically), use a wide variety of hand tools, work through a range of motion from ground level up to and including above shoulder height, must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to use hand tools including but not limited to tweezers, wire cutters, wire crimpers, screw drivers, soldering irons, utility knives, etc. All wire department equipment such as but not limited to: molding machines, splicers, testers, tape wrap, terminators, wire cutting machines, etc. Responsible to identify and communicate corrective actions, interpret Truck-Lite blueprints, and meet attendance standard.

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED

Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English. Must pass a basic skills test required for this job.
