PRIMARY FUNCTION: This is a responsible tooling position requiring skills to build and repair molds, jigs, fixtures, and other tooling equipment involved in the manufacturing of plastic injection molded parts. The daily activities of tool mechanics to maintain tooling in production ready condition. Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments and math to build repair parts for broken jigs, and fixtures. Maintain adequate repair supplies and other material related to repairs. Modifies jigs and fixtures to correct problems. Performs skilled work involving close tolerance. Recommend and coordinates repairs and changes with the various approved tool shops to meet our production schedule as well as improve our tooling. Perform root cause analysis on issues that are tool related and also participates in teams performing root cause analysis on production related issues that have caused tooling damage.
